It’s another week in paradise. Here’s what you need to know to sound smart.

  1. Sam Altman says that we are in the singularity, have reached point where artificial intelligence now outpaces human. Likely thing for an AI CEO to say, especially when this is happening. Wake me up when the robots can do this.

  2. Tour De France is won by Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia for a record-tying fifth time in his career, one of only five cyclists to ever do so. Fantastic work but still 2 short of Dodgeball star Lance Armstrong. PS - him being a scumbag truly broke me in 2007. I can forgive steroids but cheating on Sheryl Crow? Jail.

  3. UNC’s football GM Michael Lombardi put on paid leave, as long-time Belichick ally is the forced to step away after an HR complaint from a UNC employee. Take a lesson from your protégée, bring a puppy to the press conference and this will all blow over soon. Trust me.

  4. Study shows that Gen Z is now drinking more cocktails than any generation, as 84% have had a prepared cocktail in the past 6 months. Warms my heart, tbh. Seems like this motivational speech wasn’t necessary after all.

  5. LeBron is reportedly going to live in NYC and commute to Philly every day by helicopter. Pretty silly when the bus is only $5 and a mere 4 hours round trip. Plus, you have to compete with this to get into NYC clubs? Re-evaluate, King.

WHAT ELSE IS GOOD

Shoutout to Japan for building a ‘human refrigerator,’ where workers can enter to have cold air blasted at them to cool their bodies down within 10 minutes. If only we could get this technology to cool a whole floor. Maybe an entire building. It’d be heaven.

I actually do fuck with this. I’ve always wondered what it’s like to be a bag of expired lettuce inside the fridge when I close the door. I’m assuming it’s like Night at the Museum and all the foods come to life and have personalities unique to their food groups. That’d be sick

Punch the Monkey has officially turned one year old (officially a teenager in monkey years ) and received 2,500 birthday cards from fans and one copy of Monkey Gone Wild from his uncle Daily Friday that he can hide under his mattress. You’re welcome bud.

Punch is making the hard transition from child star to normal teen and we’re supporting him on that journey. He’s just like the other monkeys now and that’s actually fine

Didn’t know a single thing about this before yesterday, but Mayo has finally won the All-Ireland football championships after 75 years and this video actually fired me the hell up. Fuck yes Mayo. Sports are the best.

Gaelic football highlights might tide me over until real football season starts

Apparently, you can’t even wear a creepy mime costume and create disturbing encounters without getting charged and then ultimately passing out in court while they are reading your sentencing out loud anymore in this country. What happened?

I sentence him to 6 months in an imaginary box. And hide all imaginary rope so we don’t have another Epstein situation

Massive shoutout to Anita LeBrun, an 82 year old Minnesota grandma who fought -and won- her battle with the state to allow booze to be served at nursing homes. I thank you now and I’ll thank you again in 50 years. Legislation that actually matter.

Grandma Goals.

PARAMOUNT PROGRESS PAUSED

Editor’s Note: This segment is from our good friend at Read That Again, the Entrapranure newsletter, covering the biggest finance news of the week. ENJOY.

Salutations, streaming aficionados (couch potatoes). If my calculations are correct (I can’t read math, only write it), Paramount may pay more for its purchase of Warner Bros. than I advised them to…

After a group of state attorney generals (potentially attorneys general I didn’t double-check) sued my nephew David Ellison for the planned Paramount-WBD merger, Dave has now announced a pause until next June (2027, not the other one).

If the deal hasn’t closed by June 4, 2027, the merger will expire (few will be able to hold it until then).

In the meantime, Paramount will pay WBD shareholders $650M every quarter that the deal remains unclosed.

Fortunately, I bought all of the shares in advance and shorted the court system (judges are undervalued). Few invested in time. Many will stream Harry Potter soon. Be few.

STUFF TO CLICK WHEN YOU’RE BORED TODAY

  • My biggest takeaway from our episode on the Odyssey is that touching grass is pretty good. We talked to a ton of people at CityWalk in LA and most of them had zero clue about any “controversies” that were a massive deal online.

  • Read this on your lunch break: A Teen Reporter Who Searched His Community for Epstein Files. Adults Freaked Out.

  • The rules are simple: when Sahib posts, we share on the newsletter. The man just does not miss.

  • I genuinely cannot wait until football season starts. Read this article to get yourself 20 minutes closer to kickoff.

  • If you want to get smarter in like 8 minutes, watch this video on why we should think of intelligence in terms of goals, not brainpower.

  • While it certainly does not exist on Daily Friday, sadly there’s an eroticism shortage in America. Don’t be scared to have sex, guys. Be scared to open up emotionally and that you’ll never achieve your potential like a normal person.

  • This was a very helpful breakdown of what exactly happened during OpenAI’s security snafu over the weekend.

  • It’s Monday. Let’s get the week started off on the right foot with this electric boxing corner hype speech. We are firemen this week.
